Andreas Aigner has hit out at 🃏the spectators on the Rally𝓰 Mexico after they ruined his changes of scoring any points.

The Red Bull Rallye Team driver went into the event, the second round in the Production Car World Rally Championship, keen to try and open his account, after finishing ninth in Sweden and just missing 𒊎out.

However it all went wrong on the first loop on day one. Going into SS3 he was running in the points in the PWRC category, sixth overall, 6.9 seconds behind Fumio Nutahara. Part way through the 17.88 kilometre El Cubilete test though he🐟 hit a rock in his Mitsubishi Evo, which damaged his engine and forced him to retire from the leg.

After that it was a case of d💜amage lim💞itation and in the end he could only finish eleventh, 33.5 minutes off the lead and around 8 minutes off the final points' position.

"I have to thank my team of mechanics once again," he reflecꦍted. "They really did a great job.🐼 I owe it to them that I was able to finish the rally.

"But what aౠ shame that the spec🦋tators here were so undisciplined, ruining my chance of scoring championship points with their stupidity."

Asked about that incident in more detail, he added that the roc𒐪k had definitely been put deliberately on the road.

"Suddenly, in a blind corner, two large rocks were lying on the road. I didn'ꦇt stand a chance," he recoun𝕴ted at the end of leg one.

"This would never happen under normal circumstances. I guess that some spectators hadꦅ a han𒈔d in it because earlier some other drivers already had rocks thrown at their windscreens."
