Currently exact d🎶etails are sketchy but the Estonian's accident has forced organisers to cancel the first run through Margam. Initial reports suggest that he struck a tree on the co-drivers' side of the car. Marshals are at the scene.

Only nine drivers managed to complete the 27.42 kilometre stage before the incident - Manfre💮d Stohl quickest, having completed it in 15mins 15.2 seconds. Colin McRae was second,✤ 1.9 seconds adrift, followed by Roman Kresta, Kris Meeke, Mark Higgins, Henning Solberg, Xavier Pons and Antony Warmbold.
Mitsubishi's Gigi Galli also completed the stage, despite going off the road and 🧸into a ditch. The Italian was consequently over 7 seconds slower than Stohl.
