For the second consecutive HPDC event Dick Johnson Racing has secured a round one-two result. Following his impressive win in Queensland, Dean Canto repeated his feat at⛎ the Mallala Motorsport Park, this time with team mate Grant Denyer standings alongside him on the podium.

The win was Canto's fourth of the year and as a result he now heads the championship standings, although for Denyer, second place is his best result in the series.

In the three races staged today, Canto took a third place and two race wins while Denyer managed seventh in the first race and then followed that up with two fifth placing𝔍's - the best result of his career.

By winning the round, and thanks to indifferent race results from his main rivals Adam Macrow, Warren Luff and Tony D'Alberto, Canto is now leading the HPDC V8 Sꦏeries championship.

The two wins have taken Canto's rac🌌e win tally to nine for the year, while Den🍸yer's strong performances over the last couple of rounds has him placed in the top ten overall for the first time.

"I must have turned the god's on today," Dean Canto said. "Everything went well and we didn't have a glitch. I needed to make up some serious points following the Wakefield incident and as I have maintained, there are a lot of rac🉐es to be r🍸un and anything can happen".

"Luck deserted me at Wakefield and today luck 𝔉went against Adam Macrow and Warren Luff", Canto 🍌continued. "Being a part of a level one team means that Denyer is severely handicapped when it comes to testing, so to get a podium in his first year was a great result".

Denyer reiterated Canto's point. "I don't get to t🐻est so I have limited track time, to get 🌟on the podium here this weekend is way ahead of schedule," he said.

"I cop a lot of abuse from people that think I'm a pretender when it comes to V8 driving, because of my media commitments. I hope that this result proves a thing or two. I think I can rac𝓰e okay, I've got a great team, a great car and fantastic sponsors that have helped me the whole way, I'm just 𒀰absolutely over the moon to be able to give them this result."

Denyer held✨ of💜f a fast finishing Warren Luff to secure outright second for the round.

"I've been racing with 'Luffy' for a few years in the Utes series so I know how he races. I've got a lot of respect for him and he's always tough to race against. Warren passed me on the last lap. He's always given me a bit out on the track and I🐟 saw a little gap on the turn coming onto the main s🧸traight so I thought I'd give a little back".

"We both went on a little slide but I w🐓as able to recover better and beat him to the chequered flag. I ju♏st wanted to beat him home. It was a great tussle."

Earlier in the day, during the reverse grid second race, Adam Macrow's Ford started smoking, dropping oil in the process. Macrow was forced to pit, bu𓂃t before he was able, Tony D'Alberto, who was right behind, skidded on the oil straight into Macrow, taking him out. Warren Luff was also involved in the incident.

"I saw the smoke coming from Macrow's car, so I slowed down and backed off," Canto said. When I was told both Macrow and Luff were out I thought 'good'. I've raced hard this year and tried to get back into the Champion🌞ship, taking back points at every round since Wakefield".

"I'm now leading the Championship, but it's still really close, several guys are in a position to take it out. I'll keep trying to win races, if I can win the series 🦋great but my main priority is to ensure that the leveꦦl one teams keep me in mind for full time drives next year".
