Glen Richards secures 2011 BSB EVO crown

Glen Richards claims the second-ever British Superbike EVO Championship as his WFR Honda team dominate proceedings.
Consistent Glen Richards seals BSB EVO title

Glen Richards has won the 2011 British Superbike EVO Championship after ✅maintaining his solid run of results at Si🅰lverstone to seal the title with one round to spare.

The Australian has been the master of consistency aboard the WFR Honda,𝕴 winning just three races but scoring a total of 19 podiu♈ms in 23 races.

A return to prominence for Richards, who spe🍨nt a season in the Superstock category after failing to win a race with HM Plant Honda at Superbike level in 2009, he was thrilled to be a title winner once 🌜again.

"A big thanks to the team and my crew, the best in the paddock for the great bike they have given me. I am really happy to seal the title and now can eꦚnjoy the final three races with no pressures about the title."

Richards's title comes despite stiff opposition from his team-mates Alex Lowes and Graeme Gowland, but a switch to the championship class for the former and a lengthy period out t🧜hrough injury for the latter curtailed their hopes of lifting the title.

Even so, between the three riders - plus a guest showing f♕or Jake Zemke over four rounds -, WFR Honda have ꦚwon all but four EVO races this season.

Currently, the form man is Gowland, the former Supersport front runner winning all but one of the last ten races to place him second in the standings, a remarkable feat given he hadn't scored a po🦂int until the fourth round.

ღBarry Burrell holds third in the standings aboard the Buildbase BMW, with Tyco Honda's 🐭Patric Muff in fourth and Moto Rapido Ducati's Scott Smart in fifth.
