Josh Owens is assessing the possibili🦹ty of setting up his own team for 2019 as his options narrow while targeting a return to the British Supersport GP2 Cup next y💫ear.

After being cruelly denied his Grand Prix debut in Moto2 at Silverstone last month, when all races at the B🌼ritish MotoGP round were cancelled due to safety concerns on track conditions, Owens has rꦫefocused his efforts in BSS’s GP2 Cup and is on the edge of securing the inaugural title.

With five consecutive class wins stretching back to race two at Cadwell Park, Owens has moved 73 points clear of nearest GP2 Cup🐷 rival Jorel Boerboom with two rounds and four races remaining.

But with RS Racing unable to provide Owens with a 2019 ride, he remain✱s short of options and could look to enter a privately-run team next season.

“Unfortunately with no offers of a ride on the table currently and now the belief that I do belong in the paddock, knowing I can run with the🍬 front runners at every rou💯nd, we are looking at the possibility of running our own bike in the GP2 Cup next season if a ride does not become available,” Owens said.

“With it looking like there will be a l🉐ot more GP2 machines on the grid next season it should be a competitive series and one which I want to show I belong in.

“Unfortunꦯately if it comes to it, running our own team is 𒁃something we can’t do without the help of sponsors.”
