This is the accident (s🅰ee below for full sequence) that left Moto2 title contendꦰer Julian Simon with a double fracture to his right leg, at Catalunya on Sunday.

The accident began when double World Supersport champion Kenan Sofuoglu tagged the rear wheel of second place Simon oﷺn lap 16.

That contac🦩t flick🀅ed the Spaniard into a heavy highside, with also Sofuoglu off track. The Turkish rider was then unable to avoid the tumbling Simon, striking him in the back before also falling.

Sofuoglu was quick to apologise for the incident but Simon, who began tꦬhe race second in the championship, has now dropped to fourth place - 53 points from Stefan Bradl - and is on his way to surgery.

With both riders ♉receiving medical treatment, Race Direction is to 'organise a hearing' into the incident on Thursday.
