Dunlop sets new record on way to Frohburg victory

Michael Dunlop became the fourth member of his fa🔥mous racing family to taste success at the Frohburg Road Races in Germany after a record-breaking performance on Sunda💜y.
Dunlop, who was competing for Rico Penzkofer's Penz13.com team along with Canadian rider Dan Kruger, set a new lap record on the BMW S1000RR as he won the Joey Dunlopꦓ Superbike race, adding his 🔜name to the list of winners at the event along with his uncle Joey, dad Robert and brother William.
Dunlop finished third in the opening Superbike race on Sunday after struggling with rear grip and was ruled out of race two as a result of an electrical issu💛e.
However, the 25-year-ol𓃲d from Northern Ireland produced a big performance when it mattered in the feature race, beating Belgian rider and newly crowned International Road Racing Champion (IRRC) Didier Grams by three second.
Dunlop, who extended his win t🌠ally at the Isle of Man TT to 11 victories in June with hiꦜs second successive four-timer, said: "Amazing weekend. Of course, those two DNFs were a pity but my biggest target was to not lay in the hedge, which we accomplished. The podium on Sunday morning was great but also we had a problem with a dropping rear tyre.
"We did some changes but in the second race I h🥃ad to stop at the pits as the bike was cutting out. We got that sorted quickly, changed the suspension once more and then took the win," he added.
"I am happy, it was a great weekend - especially with all those passionate fans here at Frohburg and of cour🍒se the whole Penz Team. It was fun, I'd like to do it again."
