The defending World Superbike champion says his sole focus is to extend his healthy 75-point lead at the top of the riders’ champi💟onship at the Italian track to take a dominant position into the extens🙈ive summer break which follows the Misano round.

Rea, who was involved in a scary race one crash with Chaz Davies at the Italian track last year, accepts Kawasaki tends to need a compromise with set-up at Misano but is relishing the final round before the breꦫak.

“Misano is one of my favourite races of the season and this year we planned a holiday before the race with my 🌠family, staying on the beach with our motor home,” Rea said. “It sets the weekend up per🐓fectly as I feel recharged for the last race before the summer break.

“The circuit is pretty straightforward and has a mix of everything. Although it’s flat, it’s still a challenge to find a compromise with set up, so we will work hard on Friday to𓄧 make sure we can be competitive.

“It’s important to strengthen our position in the championship. Our target is to keep working the way we have in the previous races and maximise o♓ur potential.”

After Misano, Rea will contest the Suzuka 8 Hours for tꦍhe factory Kawasaki squad alongside Leon Haslam and Kazuma Watanabe on July 27-29 b♕efore returning to World Superbike action at Portimao on September 14-16.
