Remy Gardner joined father Wayne as a grand prix world champion with a tense Moto2 title victory over team-mate Raul Fernandez in 2021, the♎n stayed alongside Fernandez as they both moved to the MotoGP class with Tech3 K⛎TM.
The RC16 soon proved a handful for both rookies but, with Fernandez eager to leave and Red Bull KTM's Miguel Oliveira turning down the Tech3 offer, Gardner looked set ༒to remain for a ꧑second season.
But KTM m💜anagement thought otherwise, informing a shocked Gardner at their home Austrian round that he would not be retained and lining up their next Moto2 champion, Augusto Fernandez, to take his place.
With no alternative MotoGP seats available, Gardner thus joined Darryn Binder and the retired And𓂃rea Dovizioso in leaving the grid - which was reduced from 24 to 22 by the exit 🐠of Suzuki.
While Binder is heading for Moto2, Gardner - who scor༒ed 13 points in 🃏MotoGP, leaving him between Fernandez and binder in 23rd - will make a new start with GRT Yamaha in the WorldSBK championship.
Prior to 2022, Gardner raced for Tech3 𓄧in Moto2 during 2017 and 2018ꦑ when the French team was still campaigning its own chassis.
It proved a struggle with Gardner no higher than 19th in the world championship (not helped by injuries) and he switched to the class-leadi💃ng Kalex frame, at the SAG team, for 2019.
Also revelling in the extra power from the new Triumph engines,🀅 Gardner took his first grand prix podium that season, followed by a long-awaited debut victory at the final round of 2020.
Joining the Red Bull Ajo team for 2021, 💛Gardner's mix of speed and consistency - 12 podiums from 18 rounds, including 5 wins - proved enough to hold off the searing pace of rookie Fernandez.
He stepped up to the KTM Tech3 team but was sacked 🔯with questions about his professionalism.
Unable to find an🐼other MotoGP rider, Gardner switched to WorldSBK.
2025 i🔯s his third year with the Yamaha WSBK team - he is still awaiting his first win.
