Hickman taken to hospital with illness
Smiths Raci﷽ng BMW ha෴s confirmed Peter Hickman has been taken to hospital as a precaution after falling ill following qualifying at Thruxton and is a doubt for today’s races.
Hickman, who claimed his last Bennetts British Superbike championship race win 12 months ago at the Hampshire circuit, is receiving treatment 𝄹at Winchester hospital after feeling ill after Saturday’s action.

Hi𒅌ckman, who claimed his last Bennetts British Superbike championship race win 12 months ago at the Hampshire circuit, is receiving treatment at Winchester h🧔ospital after feeling ill after Saturday’s action.
Hickman will miss Sunday’s morning warm-up session but the team is hopeful he will be fit to return to action in both races. The British rider qualified 11th for race one at Thruxton while he ended Friday p🐻ractice with the fasꦡtest lap time.
The Smiths Raci🌼ng BMW rider made the dash back from the Suzuka 8 Hours this week along with fellow BSB riders Leon Haslam, Bradley Ray, Sylva⭕in Barrier, Christian Iddon and Michael Laverty.
Hick🐓man is midway through a busy schedule of five consecutive race weekends which started last month at the BSB Brands Hatch round followed by last week’s Suzuka 8 Hours. After the BSB Thruxton round, Hickman is due to compete at the Ulster GP for his final high-profile road racing meeting of the year before returning to BSB action at his home round at Cadwell Park at the end of August.
A final decision on Hickman’s participat🤪ion in the Thruxton rac༺e weekend is expected ahead of race one.
