Alex Mar🍨quez, younger brother of MotoGP champion Marc Marquez, has undergone shoulder surgery.

The Estrella Galicia 0,0 ri🥀der, who claimed one victory and fourth in the world championship during his rookie Moto3 season, had been suffering from a 'recurring disl❀ocation' of the joint.

During the oper🍃ation at the Hospital Universitario Quiron Dexeus in Barcelona, doctors "stabilised the shoulder by introducing a bone block and reconstructing the anterior shoulder ligaments."

Marquez, who t🧔eam is switching from KTM to Honda mac🦄hinery for 2014, will require three weeks of rest.

The decision to undergo surgery was made after Marquez noted problems in recent months. He had dislocated his shoulder at the Mal🅠aysian Grand Prix.
